Holistic Counseling

Holistic counseling in Allentown, PA, that meets you where you are

Licensed therapy that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms. Brainspotting, CBT, person-centered care, and trauma-informed approaches, blended into a practice rooted in mind, body, and spirit. Most major insurance accepted.

What it means

Holistic counseling treats you as a whole person. Your nervous system, your relationships, your history, and your spirit, all in the room together.

Traditional therapy often focuses on symptoms. Holistic counseling holds those symptoms in a wider context: the body that carries them, the relationships that shape them, the stories you've inherited about who you are, and the inner wisdom that already knows what needs to shift.

Our licensed counselors blend evidence-based methods with integrative practices, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, person-centered care, somatic awareness, and parts work. The blend is shaped by you and what you're moving through, not by a one-size protocol.

"Real healing doesn't come from fixing what's broken. It comes from remembering what's already whole, and being met with care while you do that work."

Approaches we use

Evidence-based methods, integratively applied

Our counselors are trained in a range of clinical modalities. The right blend depends on you, what you're working through, and what your nervous system is ready for.

Brain-body modality

Brainspotting

A focused, body-led therapy that uses where you look to access where you feel. Particularly powerful for trauma, anxiety, performance blocks, and stuck emotional patterns that talk therapy alone hasn't reached.

Evidence-based

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The clinically researched gold standard for anxiety, depression, and unhelpful thought patterns. CBT helps you notice the thoughts driving your feelings and behavior, then build new ways of responding.

Relational

Person-Centered Therapy

Built on the belief that you already hold what you need to heal. Our role is to create the warmth, presence, and safety that let you access it. Less directive, more deeply collaborative.

Trauma-informed

Parts Work & Inner Family

A way of working with the different "parts" of you, including the ones that protect, the ones that carry pain, and the wiser self underneath. Especially helpful when you feel pulled in conflicting directions inside.

Somatic

Mind-Body Techniques

Breath, grounding, and body-aware practices that help regulate the nervous system. Healing isn't only a head-level conversation. The body needs to be invited into the work too.

Integrative

Holistic & Spiritual Counseling

For clients drawn to a wider view of healing, sessions can integrate mindfulness, meaning-making, and spiritual perspectives alongside clinical work, always shaped by what feels right to you.

What we help with

Real life, met with real care

People come to counseling for many reasons. These are some of the most common, though no list is ever complete. If you don't see what you're working through here, reach out anyway.

What it feels like

A session that meets you, not a script

Counseling at Holistic Awakenings isn't a clinical interview. There's no clipboard between you and the person sitting with you. Sessions are fifty-five to sixty minutes, held in a quiet room with soft light, comfortable seating, and the kind of pace that lets a real conversation unfold.

Some sessions are mostly talking. Others move into Brainspotting, body awareness, or quieter work where the doing is mostly inside. Your counselor will check in with you about what feels right, and the work shifts as you do.

You don't have to come in knowing what you want to talk about. You don't have to have a goal. You can come in with just the sense that something needs attention, and we'll take it from there together.

Insurance & fees

We're in network with most major insurance plans, including Highmark, Capital Blue Cross, Optum, Aetna, Meritain, United Healthcare, Care First, and Anthem. Self-pay rates and sliding-scale options are also available.
